I hate to sound callous. but do you know how many one-on-one meetings it would take to let 12,000 people go?

Though this is undoubtedly undesirable for employees, for the company it is the most efficient process.

When I was let go many years ago, the layoffs only affected about 35 people - so one-on-one meetings were doable. But at scale it's just not possible.
