One thing I have been doing recently is to use a Chrome extension, or a website to read my stories out loud. There are some sites that limit you to a maximum amount of words, but the Chrome extension Read Aloud: A Text to Speech Voice Reader is totally free.

It not only helps me with verb tenses and plural word typos, but also let's me hear how it actually sounds when someone else reads it.
